Bunker museum

The Bunker Museum on Terschelling lies in the dunes near West-Terschelling, in the former German radar station Tiger. From here the Germans tracked Allied bombers during the Second World War.
What can you expect at the Bunker Museum?
- History: The Germans named their radar sites after animals sharing the place's initial: Tiger on Terschelling, Schlei on Schiermonnikoog. The site covers about 7 hectares with 85 bunkers, four of which form the museum. More than 200 German soldiers lived and worked here.
- Visitor centre G28: Since May 2025 the former canteen has housed a new exhibition with models and a film about the war on the Wadden Islands.
- Highlights: Highlights of the Bunker Museum are:
- Command bunker Berta, two storeys and about 20 by 20 metres. Only three of this type exist in the Netherlands.
- Bunkers furnished in period style, with original uniforms and everyday objects.
