What makes the Korea Forest so special?
- Forest and dune landscape: Walk among deciduous trees and Austrian pines and discover the transition from forest to dune. A wonderful spot for those seeking peace and nature.
- View dune with orientation table: At the highest point of the forest – a dune nearly 20 metres high – stands an orientation table. From here, you have a beautiful view over the dunes of West aan Zee and Midsland aan Zee.
- Playground ’t Speulbos: In the middle of the forest lies the natural playground ’t Speulbos. Here, children can climb, scramble and play with materials from the forest itself – pure and adventurous!
- Historical background: The Korea Forest was planted in 1951 during the Korean War and owes its special name to that period. Covering about 7.5 hectares, it is a compact yet characterful forest area.
Practical information
- Rest point along the cycling route: The Korea Forest is the last patch of forest of Midsland-Noord that you encounter on the right-hand side when cycling along the inner dune edge. An ideal place to stop and enjoy the view.
- Access: Free access, open all year round.
